The nearest airport to PUNTA MITA is Puerto Vallarta's Gustavo Diaz International Airport (PVR), which is approximately 25 miles away and about a 45 minute drive on well-traveled roads. Major airline carriers serve PVR, some offering non-stop flights from the US and Canada to PVR.

Yes, everyone is required to go through immigration and customs and must have a valid passport (good for at least 6 months before expiration), even young children and infants. The first stop is immigration, which has both immigration personnel and several automated machines that you insert your passport into for entry. Next you claim any checked bags and enter the customs line. Have your customs form filled out, signed, dated and ready before getting in line. Forms are available either onboard your flight or at a counter in the customs entry hall. When reaching the customs inspection station, you'll load all your bags into the xray machine. Make sure to declare any items that are subject to import tax, not doing so could delay your entry. Depending on the season, day and time, customs and immigration can be crowded, so take advantage of the rest room on the plane prior to deplaning or in the airport before getting in the customs line. Rest rooms are located in both the immigration and customs halls. Cell Phone use, hats and sunglasses are prohibited in these halls.

Our concierge staff will arrange for your pick up at and return to the airport and will also confirm your driver's name and meeting location. Depending on the size of your group, transportation will be in a full-size SUV or large van. Your driver will be outside the main terminal entrance holding a sign with your group's name. Make sure to confirm his name, your group's name and destination, especially when the area is crowded and busy. 

The High Season is Thanksgiving to Easter, which is when the weather is consistently warm and dry. That said, the 'shoulder seasons' - October until Thanksgiving and after Easter through July are typically good times to vacation here as rates are reduced and there are fewer fellow travelers. August and September can be hot, humid and have frequent afternoon rain showers.

Yes, our concierge staff will contact you prior to your arrival to work on breakfast menus, food and beverages, restaurant reservations and other essentials to make your trip seamless. Please review the grocery list and options, which will be emailed, to make sure that you'll have everything you need. There are also several very good grocery, convenience stores and pharmacies that can provide or refill items. Also, please advise us of any food allergies.

There is no shortage of restaurants, both 'Inside the Gate' and in town. They offer menus from street tacos to Michelin Star cuisine, and typically are located on or overlooking the waterfront. Among our favorites 'Inside the Gate' are Sufi and Kupuri, and in town notables are Rustica and Tuna Blanca. If you feel like eating in, our concierge staff can arrange for Vicky or a local chef to prepare a very memorable dining experience.

Yes, Punta Mita Hospital is a 'first-world' facility with expert emergency care physicians, nurses, support staff and diagnostic capabilities on-site. As part of Casa Playa's 'Giving Back' initiative, donations in support of the Punta Mita Hospital are made annually to help keep this great facility at the forefront of medicine. In town, there is a well-staffed medical walk-in clinic just outside the Hacienda de Mita pedestrian gate - less than a five minutes away. Additionally, several pharmacies in town carry numerous prescription and non-prescription medicines.  

Going back to 1999, with the launch of The Four Seasons, Punta Mita has placed the safety, security and wellbeing of guests to be their highest priority. This is evident in the constant and consistent, yet non-intrusive, security system in place; verified and current credentials required by everyone to get 'Inside the Gate', enforced 24/7 at the two main gates as well as at each of the individual community gates. 24/7 motor and walking patrols - who are vigilant in enforcing 'Quiet Hours' (10:00 pm to 8:00 am), as well as monitored cameras in public places. Even in the town of Corral del Risco, safety is evident with a strong local Policia Turistica and Government Marine Base on-site. And the town's residents are both appreciative and protective of guests.
